A two-day and one-night business trip to Erimo.
After having dinner at Ajidokoro Ichijyo, I took an after-dinner walk around the port area of Honcho.
In Erimo Town during the heyday of group tours, a number of Japan National Railways buses visited the town, spitting out group tourists one after another.
The travelers had nowhere to stay, and some rented rooms in the hallways of inns, others rented a room in the town hall’s dormitory, and some even slept under the cars of other people’s houses.
Decades have passed since those days, and the number of group tourists is said to be about 200,000 these days, compared to 700,000 to 800,000 a year in the 1960s, and there is a quiet atmosphere at night in the port town.
*Please forgive that the copy right is my previous HN.
I would like to see a bustling landscape as it was sometime ago.
